Default LR4 Overheat: totally stumped. Please help!

Hi guys. Been lurking for a while and have found lots of help on here. Finally signed up and my first post is a cry for help.

I’ll get right to it.

few weeks back my wife’s 13 lr4 overheated. Or so we think. She says it went up then went back down. You know how that is. 🙄

It appeared to me the fan clutch was bad and was happy it’d be an easy fix.
i changed the thermostat at same time.

i flushed and bled the system.
it overheated again. Wasn’t sure it was an accurate reading because it didn’t appear to be hot. I shot everything with temp gun and nothing seemed incredibly hot.

pulled a vacuum. Found the y pipe going into block was bad.
changed that and temp sensor. Vacuum fill and bled. will hold vacuum.

runs all day long at idle and won’t overheat.
drive 3-5 miles and then it will go from normal to hot in 3 seconds.

running it at 3k rpms it will finally start to overheat sitting still.

radiator seems ok. Water pump as well.

also to note.
i tried bleeding system like some on here say. By leaving cap off and revving it up. But when it gets warm it overflows at 2-3k rpms.
possible bad new thermostat?
so I’ve been bleeding the air via the bleeder near the battery.
it’s sputters forever then about the time it quits I can pull cap on reservoir and it sucks the coolant down.

please help. Thank you.
