RE: new cd player
What happens is they take a nowmal changer (like a Pioneer) and add an overpriced connector that allows the head unit (radio) to talk to the CD Changer. This allows head unit to recognize CD's,change CD's, songs, shuffle, etc. It also pipes the music directly into your unit, instead of an FM transmitter. I have not searched hard, but do not know if you can find these "after-market" easily (for obvious reasons). If you truly want to use your head unit, you may need factory. There are probably ones on eBay.
BUT, before you get a changer, look into hooking up an MP3 player instead. It is a lot more convenient to have 1000's of songs with out going under the seat to change your 6 CD's. I am trying to do this now with my Range Rover. Good luck.
