Default New to Land Rovers and I need help.

Hi all, thank you for letting me join. My name is Stuart and I am a tech at a Ford dealer here in Winnipeg, Canada. I have a Land Rover that I that I have to do some work on but cannot identify. I believe it's a 1980 Discovery. The VIN is SALLDHMB7FA447319. Can anyone decode this for me and let me know exactly what I'm working on? Thanks in advance!

I can assure you it's not a 1980 at least.

Try this one. There are also other VIN decoders on internet.

Comes up VIN not valid, but that's the VIN on the vehicle...

That is a Defender 110 most likely. A picture of the engine would help.

Looks like a left hand drive which means it might be a North American Spec (NAS) or perhaps it could have been imported from Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, etc)

Look in the 'signature' at the bottom of this post and you will find a ton of service manuals in a google drive.

After much searching, I was able to find a VIN decoder. I have a 1989 Land Rover Defender, 2.5L TDi Falcon engine, 110" wheelbase, 5 door wagon.
