I have an 2005 RR HSE and the check engine light will come on for a few days and the turn off. The DTC code that shows up is
P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1).Does any one know an easy way to fix the problem. Do I have to change the sensor? Help please.......

How many miles on your truck? Are you still in warranty, if so I would suggest you let the dealer handle it under warranty. If not in warranty then you will need to replace 1 or 4 02's depending on your mileage.

I would call the dealers service manager, not the service writer, and ask him if it is covered under the State or Federal emission warranty, it might be.
I would look at the exhaust manifold, down to the "Y" pipe, if it looks easy to get to go for it if the dealer won't cover it.
At your mileage you would only need the one replaced.

Mike,
Ihave noticed the engine light only comes on when the gas tank is near empty. When ifill upthe light goes off after two trips. Do you think there could there be anything else wrong?

The 2 should not be related. As for the gas tank, try not to let it go under 1/4 full, it causes overheating and speeds up it's wear.

Just my input but 05 LM's are known to have bad cats on their vehicles they will crack just before the convertor and will cause that code to be logged on, and as far as changing all sensors is not really a good idea just swap the sensors side to side and see if the code logs on for the other bank they are interchangable now the banks on the m62 are read backwards. Oh yeah and you can probably get them taken care of by the dealer it falls withing emissions warranty

Now I am getting another code which reads " low range/ performance bank 1 sensor 1" so I’m getting ready to order a heated oxygen sensor and hopefully correct the problem. I have two questions. 1. is bank 1 sensor 1 the front drivers side sensor or the front passenger side sensor? 2. do I need a special tool to remove and install the oxygen sensor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the front 02 on the drivers side. I know the mileage doesn't warrant replacing them as a pair, but, I would replace both front 02 to kee everything balanced.
Check with Atlantic British, they usually have some of the better 02 prices on line.
