Hey all thanks for all the help in the past and for a great resource.
I have a 2000 disco 2 with 126K on it. I replaced the PS pump and all of the hoses in October because a hose went and killed the pump. It has been working well but in the past week the temps have dipped to slightly below zero here in UT. When I first start the truck in the AM it screeches pretty loud and it sounds like the P/S pump. It goes away in about 5 to 10 seconds...should I be worried about killing another pump? I didnt use a synthetic fluid when I replaced the pump, but I did use some of the lucas adative.
What can I do to keep everything running? the PS pump job wasnt too bad but isnt something I want to tackle again 3 months later.
Thanks in advance!!
Dave

Started it this morning when it was 35 degrees F and the P/S pump didnt make a sound....I put prestone PS fluid in it when I first replaced the system. I am assuming that its the cold weather that made the pump whine. Does the Land Rover brand PS fluid work better when its that cold out? Thanks again
