Default radio coding

Good Day Gents,
I sent my discovery for a starter replacement to my mechanic today. Sad to say, the starter just gave up on me. But enough with my whining. As soon as I got the disco back home, when I turn the radio on, there was no signal and all it says is code! I guessed when they disconnected the battery that the radio had to be reset by inputting a code. My dilemma is that I got this vehicle second hand and had no idea what the code may be! Anybody here who could help me to figure how to work this thing out will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and btw, the year of my disco is 97.[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Take proof of owner ship to your local Rover dealer and have the service department pull the codes from Rover along with you recall information.

DiscoMike,
Thanks for your quick response. I guess I don't know need to go to the dealer since I got the code from the previous owner. Unfortunately, before I got the code, I probably messed up the radio by putting numerous numbers ( that cause beeping sounds )and everytime I put the right code, it just beeps and nothing else.
Is there still a remedy for this problem?

Thanks again
Erwin

Your radio is code locked, just leave the radio on for 30 mins and enter the correct code number.

I have the same problem. Called the dealership and they gave me a code. After I wait an enter the code the display blinks but nothing else happens. If I hit any other button the display goes back to non-blinking. Any one know what is up with the blinking. The truck is a 95' so it is possible the radio was changed at some time. Thanks for any help.

If you have the correct code, then it is going to be simple troubleshoot! Just leave the radio on for 1 hr ( engine doesn't have to be running ). Input the right code and that should solve your problem!
Good Luck
