Default smoke under steering wheel

my wife was driving our Disco II S7 '01, and smoke started to come out from under the steering wheel. This car has a coolant leak (which I can't find), I thought I bled the coolant correctly, but I didnt, we could hear a "waterfall" sound while driving... Now no air comes out when the A/C or just the "economy" air is turn on, no air thru the vents.

I bled the coolant for an hour, with car on, lots of puffs thru the bleeding valve... now my question:
is it the thermostat?
or is it the heater core that busted? (read some posts and it seems to point in this direction).

thank you...

First, do not start the engine again or you can burn out a wire harness.
As for bleeding the engine, you do it with the engine off and cold, not while running.

ok, i've been driving the car around... but how do i fix? I saw a post that said to get air out of system to turn on heat and that only works with car on. So why is there no air coming out of vents ?

That being the case, you might want to bleed it the way I suggested and check your fuses to see why your a/c fan is not working.
Let me know what you find.

Bled the coolant system per your instructions. I checked all the fuses all are fine, except I do not know how to check the big square ones (yellow and black)... Checked fuses under steering wheel and next to battery. Anywhere else?

So start you engine let it warm up with the heater on then turn it off, let it go cold a bleed the system one more time. There is no way to check the relays, so you may have an electrical issue still to deal with. Is there anything else that is not working, check everything?

Mike,
I do not get any air from the vents... is this the heater core or just the fan? all fuses are good.

What did the smoke smell like, was it sweet, if so it was coolant from your heater core. If it had a burnt electrical smell, you shouldn't be driving it cause you are toasting a very expensive wire harness.
