Question o2 sensor

I have a 1997 land rover discovery LSE model and I just bought 2 universal o2 sensor for my car. The only problem is that the wire colors on my car don't match the wire colors on the new o2 sensor that I bought. Could someone please tell me what the wire colors mean on my Disc: I have red, black, yellow, and white wires on the o2 sensors right before the catilc converter. I know one is the heater, two are for sensors and one is ground. but what order I have know clue.

Default oxygen sensor wire colors 1997 discovery

Poking around with a volt meter this is what I figure they are.

black = signal
yellow = ground
red = heater
white = heater

I put a 3 wire designed for a older Defender in it. Much cheaper part. Attempted to get a connection to the sensor body for the yellow ground wire by wrapping copper wire around it, pretty ghetto... I'll drive it tomorrow hopefully it'll work.
If it doesn't work I'll be back here to say so. If it works I'll probably just forget.
