Default Alarm fault?

Hi Guys

So I brought the new vehicle home today. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto 2010. Black with cream leather.

However...I made a stop on the way home for a McDonalds, as you do. Parked up, locked it (indicators flashed, mirrors folded and doors locked) but about two minutes later, the alarm went off and the hazard lights were flashing. Unlocked and relocked, and it was OK. I thought maybe another vehicle had set it off BUT when I got home, the same thing happened? Co-incidence? Known fault?

TIA

John K.

On my 2008 LR2, I had to replace the hood switch (aka, bonnet switch) which was faulty and caused false alarms similar to what you described. Can't say this is your problem, but more info to consider.

Thanks. I didn't see your reply until this evening but I'm sure you are right. I had done a search on Youtube earlier and it does seem a common fault on LR2's, Discos and Rangies. I'll sort it tomorrow, thank you.
