I left without even trying to remove it. The parking area was a mud pit, they wouldn't let me drive my car to the donor car, and wouldn't let me pay to have one of their employees remove it. The moron attendant kept repeating himself like a senile parrot, so I told them I would take my money elsewhere and left. For future reference, it was Holland Used Auto Parts in North Billerica, MA. Don't bother even calling them.

It can done without jacking the car but just barely especially if you're not on the smaller side. Mud would suck bad.

Which is why I told them to f*** off and left with my money still in my wallet. Posted a nasty review on Google too, just in case.

we built a shield here for another vehicle using a 4mm aluminum sheet and a metal blade in the scroll saw.
I have to admit it turned out pretty well. We used cardboard to make the template.

I could do that too, but I would need the original, and if I had it I wouldn't be trying to make a copy. 🤣🤣🤣

After a week of searching I found a supplier in China that makes the skid plates and sells them for $60, half that in quantity. I ordered a sample for $120 including shipment. No dealer wanted less than $300 + as much as $150-200 for shipping.

That should work, it's not precision engineering as long as it's thick enough and the holes are in the right place.

Which is why I ordered the sample. If it's the right thickness and the holes match I might order a few more and keep them around for anyone who needs one. Including the greedy dealers. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Congrats on finding an aftermarket replacement. Will be curious to hear if it comes with the insulating pad.
