Hello smarter people than I,
I recently decided to remove the Factory navigation system from my 2008 Land LR2 SE and now the radio has stopped working. I thought since they were seperate items that it would not cause any issues but it seems I was wrong, does anyone know if this is a programming issue that I will need the dealer to resolve?
I plan on fitting the standard black cubby in that all non navigation models come with so I can just place my phone in that spot instead.
Thanks for your help and knowledge,
Nino

They are not separate at all. The entire system runs on a MOST fiber optic ring, and if that ring is broken, you're left with nothing.
You can bypass the open fiber connectors to bring it back to life. Basically jump on side to the other. You will need to do this at the screen, and at the nav module under the passengers seat, if you removed that as well.
You may be able to find a bypass connector, and simply plug it in, or any good car audio shop should have the equipment to do it. Some people will pull the fiber leads and connect them using a small black rubber hose, but I do not recommend this method, as your audio signal passes through this, and any loss in light will result in reduced sound quality.
