2008 LR3 Bluetooth and the Blackberry 8130 (Verizon Pearl 2), LG Voyager (VX10000), Samsung SCH0i760
Hello,
I just purchased a 2008 LR3 HSE, and since its Bluetooth integration is not compatible with my Palm 650, I'm looking to upgrade to a new PDA (through Verizon). My LR3 has a VIN before 449068. My question is, will the Bluetooth work with the Blackberry 8130 (Verizon's "Pearl 2"). Land Rover's Compatibility list claims compatibility with the 8100 (the original Pearl), but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the 8130, which is a fairly new model. Any assistnace would be apreciated. Also, how about the Samsung SCH-i760? How about the LG Voyager (VX10000)?
A couple more questions: Does anyone know when the compatibility list on the Land Rover website was last updated (have the most recent phones been tested)? Is the firmware that comes with the LR3 Bluetooth kit upgradable (or are there plans to provide for updates) so that it can handle the latest phones? I would expect that there wouldn't be so many integration problems so such a high end vehicle - I hope Land Rover has plans to resolve them.
Regards,
Eric

Back when I purchased my 06 my phone was not in the list of compatible phones, yet I get exceptionaly good conection. I'm not sure how much I trust that list. I'd recommend taking your truck to the store where you are getting the phone from and letting them know that if it doesn't connect you'll be exchanging for another until you find a phone that does.

How is the 2008 LR3 overall as a car. I just saw the specs and pics on a car site and I am considering purchasing this car very soon. Is the maintenance affordable and how does the car drive?

I am using a Treo 700wx and it works perfectly, despite what the guide says. I get complete transfer of contacts, caller ID on dash and radio displays, and I can select any contact I want after hitting the bluetooth button and scrolling with the dial. Sound quality is not superb, but fair enough. if you are used to the Treo form factor, it's worth considering. The Samsung should be exactly the same, and if it isn't, go to jetwaremobile.com and download the windows bluetooth stack. That will resolve any problems of compatibility with nearly any car.
