Default 4.0L V6 PCV Valve

People have asked it, but nobody seems to be able to come up with a straight answer, so here I am to poll the masses once again. Has anyone ever changed the PCV valve on the 4.0L V6 engine? If so, where the heck is it? The workshop manual is useless for this. Help!

Actually I sorted it! It’s on the driver’s side valve cover, buried towards the back of the engine (but not quite as far back as people had led me to believe). It’s honestly not a hard job at all. For future reference for people, there’s quite a bit of confusion between the CCV and the PCV. CCV is forward on the passenger valve cover, stupid easy access, but doesn’t really require changing. PCV is aft on the driver valve cover just next to the plastic brake box.

Did you change it or is it cleanable? Any symptoms before and how’s it running now?

I changed it - got a new one off Rockauto for about $40. Easy as pie. You could probably clean it if you were careful enough but it does have an electrical connection on it (heater, I think?), so I'd probably just replace it.

As far as symptoms go, my truck had had weird idle issues for a while. I had the stalling under acceleration thing, but I changed the fuel pump out for that one. I still had some weird rough idle things, though, but my LR3 just purrs now, I was very pleasantly surprised.
