Default Air Suspension Enquiry

How much should the air suspension (vehicle height) drop on my 2007 LR3 when left parked for extended periods of time (1 or 2 weeks +)? If in theory, the air suspension system has not issues, should the LR3 ever bottom out for lack of use? Thank you.

It should not bottom out at all. If there are no leak the reservoir will hold enough air for adjustments. Dont quote me, but when turned off I think it adjusts after 2 hours then every six. But I am not sure for how many days it will continue doing a six hour adjustment. 48 hours? No clue, but eventually the reservoir could empty. But if there are no leaks then the adjustments would be minor/no existent anyway. So with no leaks at the bags or valve blocks, it should never drop all the way.

Dropping is a sign of air leak(s) and will prematurely wear out your air compressor. Leaks can be external or internal to the system. Pull the EAS fuse (F26e) to prevent it leveling, let it sit overnight, and measure which corner or axle drops the most. Actually measure; one corner dropping will drag down the others a little. I use tape to get consistent measurements:

- If its just one corner drops the most, then probably an external leak that can be found with spray bottle of soapy water. Maybe an air stut or supply line crack.
- If its both front or both back wheels, then the problem is probably in one of the valve blocks. There are three valve blocks (front, center, and rear). replace or rebuild the front or rear as determined with the dropping. By 150k miles, I have replaced all three.
- If all four still sinks, then you have a bigger problem ;-)

Let us know how it goes...
