Default Grass, Gravel, Snow Traction Selection

Does the grass, gravel and snow traction selection cut down on the fuel economy? Can I use this setting all the time througout the winter months? Does this cause additional wear and tear on the truck?

GGS has actually been proven to raise MPG on the LR3. You can reasonably expect around 2 or 3 more MPG if your commute includes a lot of stop and go traffic. It can be used all winter without any additional wear and tear. I live in the San Francisco bay area and I use it almost every morning even in the middle of summer during stop and go commute traffic. It basically forces your transmission to start in second gear after every stop which saves a lot of transmision wear and tear in stop and go traffic with all the constant shifting from first to second and back to first. It does make the ride just a tad stiffer as the adjustment on the Air bags gets twiked a bit to offer more control and it will be a lot less forgiving of tire spin.

Another smart option during stop and go traffic is to put the transmission in sport mode and lock it into 3rd gear so it will start and stay in 3rd. That makes for a happy tranny during all that bumper to bumper stuff. The only problem is that it is too smart and if you have to take off during the slightest of hills it will self shift to second gear anyway which is why I just put it in GGS and roll wit it that way.

Edit:

I forgot to mention it will also remove some responsiveness from the gas pedal. So it may feel a bit weird at first if you're not used to it but it is all normal.

I'd say trying a hard reset wouldn't hurt....

there is some sort of babysitter program in the background that takes offensive, or possibly offensive words and "bleeps" them out.

Here is the word K.N.O.B
and here it is again ****

seems like it will only insert the **** on the public access portion, because when signed in and reading the posts the word is as it should be. Signed out, checked the thread, got the **** again.

Sand mode works pretty good in traffic too.
