Default Half shaft CV yanked out - I need sober advice

I attempted to replace the LH lower control arm. I job I did without incident four years ago.
Everything went wrong and resulted in the half shaft inner joint being pulled out of the carrier.

I want to find the best way to get it all on a flatbed and send it to the shop.

All the other parts are ok except for the hyper-extended half shaft.
I want to avoid any more damage, especially to the trans.
Can I assemble the knuckle and lower arm, shock, etc., and mount the wheel just so I and winch it on a flat bed?

Any ideas?
Needless to say, I'm stressed and angry at myself for making this more complicated than needed.

Do you mean the axle pulled out of the front diff?

If so have you tried to line up the splines and insert it back in? It's a little stressful the first time lining up the splines but you will feel it when they line up and just some taps with a rubber mallet will seat it all the way in.

Or do you mean the CV joint seems to be pulled out of joint under the boot?

^ What he said. You are not clear.

If the shaft inner tripod slid out of the housing you can usually just put it all back in. Unless the rollers fell out? Even then you can sometimes get it all back together. Easier if you pull the boot and just remove the whole CV to bench rebuild. But to answer your question, yes you can put it all together for now and just leave the CV floating around if needed. But its not a difficult fit.

Also why are you replacing the lower after just four years?

The inner CV pulled loose from the carrier. It's still attached to the trans, and I'll slide the boot to expose the CV and hopefully put it back in and get it rolling on a flat bed.
That's the plan at least.

Ah yes, those evil poly bushings. Never install those, you are just another victim.

Yeah if the boot is not torn, just reinsert the CV. They are designed that way and if it goes back in fine nothing to worry about.

Hope you are fitting arms with rubber bushes this time, and nothing you have done affects the transmission only the diff.

The OEM LR genuine lower control arm is already installed

I was thinking there should be more grease in the inner joint no?
Seemed too thin and runny.
Also, is there any retainer that keeps the joint in the carrier, or is it all kept together with the knuckle and axle bolt?



Can I repack the joint with any of this?

Thanks for the tech support so far; you guys are fantastic.
I'm punching above my weight class, which is frustrating and fascinating.

Yeah, does look a little light in lubricant. I would not go crazy cleaning with solvents, but maybe clean it all up and get it all back in place. And yes, the only thing that holds the joint at that end is the boot. Also its not a carrier, some people call differentials carriers. But you still have part of the CV assembly, the housing, in the diff. That part indeed has a clip that holds it into the diff.
