Heated Steering wheel on a 2007 LR3?

It happens that I have pretty severe arthritis in my hands. The heated steering wheel is something I stupidly assumed I would get a heated steering wheel. Every car I've owned for two decades - I was shocked to learn that my LR3 didn't have one. The dealer didn't offer any solution. So to this august body, I pose the question - can a heated steering wheel be retrofitted into the LR3? Mine is a 2007 model year and that col wheel in the morning is brutal for my hands. Yeah, I've got on cashmere gloves, etc., and it's still awful for the first ten minutes or so. Once the car is heated up and the passenger compartment warmed - it gets better. But that first few minutes is absolutely awful.
Obviously it's got to be a LR3 wheel with the phone switches and such on it. I don't know if they even offer it in the HSE trim model? But I do know my V8 SE does not have one and I really miss the hell out of it. Any advice? Any ideas about who to have do it, assuming we can find one that will work?
Thanks,
Mark

Dairy makes arthritis in the hands much worse so by simply eliminating dairy from your diet will probably fix the problem;
and would be easier than putting a heated steering wheel on the lr3. I don,t think a heated steering wheel is ava. on the HSE
or just get some nice thick MITTENS![Big Grin](https://landroverforums.com/forum/images/smilies/lxvR5hR.png)

There is one option if you get a little ingenious. The power ports on an LR3 do not stay on when you turn off the vehicle, so if you got some sort of heating pad type device for 12v applications, you could use a remote start or simply go out and start the vehicle for a few minutes with the heater laid over the steering wheel. BTW, if you are in a "no idling" area, you can get this waived for certain painful or debilitating conditions.
