You don't need the GAP tool specifically to reset fuel adaptations. Any halfway decent bidirectional scantool will be able to do that. The Autel AP200 series will work, and can also do things like suspension calibrations. There are several variations of the AP200 though, so make sure to message them to confirm the specific one you're looking at will work for you. Looks like the AP200C is the newest one, available for $80 on ebay... The 200H however, does not appear to be as capable.

Yes, I have erased the error code with a scan tool (iCarsoft LR v.2.0), but the code is coming back again and again.
Usually, check engine light was due to engine running lean on bank 1, where I had to just clean the MAF sensor and clear the code, but this time it seems to be different.
First of all, the error code is for both "engine running lean on bank 1 and 2, and that it is keep coming back.

Thanks, I will take a look at the Auto AP200C. Unless I am mistaken, my iCarsoft LR2.0 does not seem to have the feature to reset complete adaptation.

Resetting fuel adaptations is different than just clearing fault codes. I think you know this, but just wanted to emphasize it.

Yes, I will have to reset the fuel adaptation, unfortunately I don't think my iCarsoft scan tools has that feature.
I am thinking about buying the Autel AP200C you mentioned above. Thank you for the suggestion!

*I have another OBD tool that connects to an app that I use on my other cars, but my LR3 clearly did not like this tool.

Another update.

I have managed to reset adaptation after erasing the error code with AP200.... But the light came back on.
This could actually mean that there is a leak that I am not aware of. I am going to use a carburetor cleaner this weekend to see if I can spot any leaks.

Meanwhile, the freeze frame data from AP200 for P0171 and P0174 looks like this. I honestly have no idea how this compares with a engine that does not have check engine light, but I was wondering if anyone could spot something suspicious.

first one is P0174 bank 2
and the second one is P0171 bank 1

Your mass air flow # looks way too high. It's my understanding that g/s should be roughly equivalent to engine size in liters. That's just a rough guideline, so it's not gospel, but it looks to be about 4-6x what I'd expect based on that rule of thumb.

I know you cleaned it, but have you tried replacing the MAF with a new Denso unit?

Actually, I see further up that you've replaced the MAF. Was it a Denso? Other brands can be troublesome and even Densos are occasionally bad out of the box...

Yes, I did replace with an Denso MAF sensor.
I could swap it with other one that I have to see if that changes anything.

Some parts can actually be bad out of the box. My brand new OEM EGR valve was causing misfire on multiple cylinders.

On second thought, isn't the MAF reading 22.96g/s normal at 1719 rpm?
Since this data (as I know) was captured at the moment check engine light came on, the car was running at the time this data was captured.
