Default Jeepster 2 LR3 Need Advice

Hey guys, first post here. I bought a 2006 LR3 4.0 and I cannot get her to fire. I have noticed that the electric throttle is humming with the ignition on but it never opens. I have stuffed a screwdriver in there and hit it with starting fluid but I get nothing. Being that it is humming, I assume it is a bad signal going to it, any ideas?

You cant force open an electric throttle body. And starting fluid is not a good idea.

So to be clear, it cranks but never fires at all?

I unplugged the electric throttle to open it. Yes though, it cranks but does not fire. When I bought it, it had a few brief moments where it fired enough to get it to "cough" but not enough to get it to start ... I thought it was a fuel filter, I didn't know these do not have serviceable fuel filters.

Coughing when trying to start? I'd drain the oil to see if there is plastic and/or metal in it. Coughing could indicate a timing issue... the 4.0L V6 has plastic guides that fail over time. Humming from the throttle body is normal with the key in the run position.
