Default Jumper Seat Latches

One of my jumper seat latches is missing its spring and the finishing cover comes off easily because one of the fastening clips is broken off.

I'm thinking I should be able to do this myself. My shop is going to charge about $300, parts and labor.

Has anyone done this? Any special tools needed?

Default Torx bits.

I have never had to fix anything seat related but for the most part, the 3 is put together by robots, (human or otherwise), that use Torx fasteners. In other words, I expect you will need some small Torx bits and that will be about it except for parts.

I find if I take pictures with my cell phone as I take things apart, that then putting stuff back together is not so much guess work as it might be. Sometime when posting a question such as above, if a picture of the offending part is included, one gets more satisfactory responses.

theres pics in my 05? thread of that area apart, if you need to remove the seats to fix it if so both big plastic side pannels in the cargo area must come out, unbolt the seats and the entire floor area lifts out in one piece, it is heavy and not very rigid so you need a second person to remove then reinstall the seats

think its t45?

Tom, that sounds like an involved project for the latches that receive the pin on the cargo floor area. No wonder the price is what it is. While this project will require me purchasing torx that I can use on future projects, I'll definitely need to allot more time to it. Since this project doesn't involve working under the hood, I'm less hesitant. Thanks!
