Default Looking for buy 2006 Land Rover LR3 SE V6 SMOK

<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->Hello everyone,
I'm new here and need help deciding if I should buy a car or not. I'm considering buying a 2006 Land Rover LR3 with a 4.0L V6 SOHC 12V engine and the title status is salvage. The asking price is 6495$. I'm wondering if this is a good deal and if anyone here has any advice on whether or not I should go ahead with the purchase.

I'm looking for an SUV to use as my daily driver and I'm not sure if this is a good option. I'm not that experienced with cars so I'm worried that the title status might mean there are problems with the car. I'm also afraid that it might cost me more money in the long run if I buy this car.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

A salvaged title can mean a lot of things, you might try to get more info on why it's salvaged. How many miles? Unless it's particularly low, that's a high price for a V6 variant, which is less popular. Maybe they are all more expensive in CA?

idk...that one wouldn't be my choice. In fact, the LR3 wouldn't be my choice for just daily driving. At this point, and at their average age, they are better for weekend toys to take camping and build for off-roading/overlanding.

From experience, I've owned a LR3 for 4 plus years. I went into it eyes wide open after a lot of research and a lot of shopping around between LR3/4s.

If you've never owned one, spend a lot of time on forums lurking and getting a feel for the issues you are likely going to face. I've never been left stranded in mine, but expect to spend time on upkeep, or paying someone to do the work for you. There are plenty of YouTube videos out there to give you a feel for ownership as well.

I've had a blast the past four years, love the way it drives, handles and deals with family trips, but there has been plenty of occasions where I've wanted to walk away from it and plenty of sleepless nights of almost regret.

And for a 17 year old truck, it still looks as fresh today...

If you cant do any repairs yourself go and buy a subaru,the disco is an awesome vehicle but if you run into major issues it will send you broke taking it to a shop to fix.
Price seems a bit high for a salvage vehicle, i'd expect to pay half that.

LR3 have depreciated enough that there is no reason to buy one with a salvage title, or a V6. The V6 will eventually give you problems with the timing chain.

You should be able to find a 2007 or later V8 with a clean title for near the same price. One with good service history and in excellent shape will be $10k or more.
