So, I joined the LR family with an 05 LR3 SE that I bought this weekend. Only 19K miles on it and it is in great shape. Only had it a few days and because I have a company car, I haven't had much time to play with it, but that will change with a road trip this weekend.

OK,here's the stupid new guy question. The key/fob combo does not fit onto a standard keyring because of the ridiculously small hole. I bought the vehicle from a luxury used car dealer, so I didn't get the advantage of a dealer knowledgeable in all things Land Rover. He said that there is a special LR clip you have to use.

Is this guy full of B.S.and all I need is a tiny key ring to hook onto a larger one or is there some special clip that goes with the key?

 

yeah they keys come with a small key ring just stop by a dealer they should have them laying around

 

Iused a small zip tie put a key ring on that and ziped it snug not tight works great

 

There's a super small ring that goes on the FOB about 1/4" diameter, then the larger one hooks on to that. Ditto, the dealer should have them by the hundreds laying around! If not, zip tie does work well too

I would imagine Lowes or Home Depot would have the same thing, probably for less if the dealers going to charge you, orrrr if the dealership is out of your way.
