Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has used the standard quick release hitch receiver with a dirt bike carrier on an LR3? I'm a bit concerned about whether the hitch can handle a load that far away from the mounting point. The bike weighs about 115kg and the rack about 40kg - all up roughly 155kg. At 350kg the rating of the receiver is way above - just wondering if anyone has had issues. Thanks.

You might consider a small trailer and one of those aftermarket attached to the tow loop hitches rather than the official LR hitch. For a bicycle, maybe those hitch things are OK around town but at speed and on rough terrain, I am not so certain.
On another topic, usually after about a thousand or so posts, the guys making the posts perhaps have the privilege re making not so positive comments; prior to that, I might suggest a few months of reading back posts on a number of the forums - one can learn a lot; also that Land Rover forums for the most part are a bit different in style and tone than many other forums. You will also find that you benefit from the experiences of others world wide, not just locally.
Maintaining a Land Rover is not the same as a Jeep or any of the far east stuff - it takes a lot of patience and thought.
Per below, some guys put a lot of effort into their trailers by the way.
