Default Lr3 rotor/brake recommendations

I'm educating myself on this but can use some direction...It looks like I might have to consider new rotors as my steering wheel shakes like crazy while breaking..anyway, if it does happen to be the rotors I would like to replace with quality parts...any recommendations. So far, i see these:

LR3 Land Rover Discovery 3 Brake Rebuild Kits: Order Brake Kits Online

They seem much pricey compared to other kits...worth it? Anything else recommended.

I use, and recommend, EBC rotors and Akebono pads. The EBC performance slotted/dimpled rotors bite really well in comparison to the stock setup, and have really come through on several occasions avoiding potential accidents. Since most of the braking power comes from the front brakes, I only upgraded the front rotors and left the rear OE. Also, the ceramic Akebono pads work well, do not dust AT ALL, and do not chirp like the OE pads did.just my .02, I'm sure others will chime in.

I used Raybestos
(F) 980351 Raybestos 980351 Disc Brake Rotor | eBay
(R) 980345 Raybestos 980345 Disc Brake Rotor | eBay
and Bosch Pads
(F) BP1098 Bosch BP1098 Brake Pad or Shoe Front | eBay
(R) BP1099. Bosch BP1099 Brake Pad or Shoe Rear | eBay

I purchased mine through Ebay and these exact sellers. Fast shipping and no problems.
I have had them on the for about 3 months now with no complaints.

Default Rear brake pads & rotors

REAR BRAKE PADS & ROTORS for LR3 2007
Per Slickzero76's recommendation, I have order the Bosch's pad and Raybesto's rotor. Parts cost total come to only $174.

Does anyone know why LR dealership wants $900 to replace my rear brake's pads and rotors - when parts only cost $174??

Thanks,
Mai-ILLINOIS

Because dealers have a shop charge of $132 an hr. + mic. shop charges for labor. With a 30%-35% profit markup on parts.

+1 On the EBC. I use EBC drilled/slotted and EBC Green stuff pads. My next set of pads will be yellow stuff, only because I wanted to try them.

I got 80k and had some life left when I swapped out the first set. They hold up well, and I am happy with them. You need to have them turned very lightly at each brake pad fitting or you are likely to get brake fade/pulsing.

Checked into front and rear brakes for '06.
Independent with aftermarket parts-$1500.
Dealer with Rover parts-$1350.
Go figure??

But you get at least 4x the life out of the aftermarket ones. Do the math on this, you get what you pay for.

Genuine LR rotors are about $100/piece online (total = $400) - I like these because they don't rust like other rotors are prone to do...

Some nice Akebono brake pads are about $75/set IIRC (total = $150)

EPB shoes (if you need to do them) probably run in the $60-80 range

Indy labor would likely be somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 hours at $80-100/hr (total = $300)

So... buy your parts online, and pay the shop to install them if you don't want to do it yourself. You should still be able to get it done for <$1000 including the parking brake shoes.
