LR3 - Tire sizes
Hi Just got a 2005 LR3 - V8 HSE.
When the dealer got it - it had 255/50/19 on the front at 285/45/19 on the back. The orginal size should be 255/55/19 on all 4.
The used dealer put 255/50/19 on all 4, which I think look small from the side.
Questions:
What is the largest tire I can put on the back? Can I go 285/55/19?
and keep the 255/50/19 on the front?
There seams to be a visual differance between 255/50/19 and 255/55/19 - does this make sense?
I like the look of big tires - any sugestions?
thanks in advance,
Dan

I beleve you want to keep all 4 the same.
you can go up to 31" with out any issues.
What are your plans for the vehicle? Will you take it offroad or will you break its spirit and keep it on the street?
do you get snow or ice ect.

They will fit but you'll want to lift the LR3 either with some form of modified rods or an electronic plug-in device like the IIDTool. If you are not going off-road you'd be wiser to go with a size that fits without mods (265/65R18 or 285/60R18 come to mind) but still look good.
Depends on the tire and the savvy of the owner. If the LR3 is properly aligned (driver savvy) then results improve. If the tires are crap (Goodyear HPs) the results will be bad.
I put 25k miles on my Goodyear HPs and they failed (this was a major early issue for everyone). My next set were Michelin Synchrones and I put 80k on those!
