Navigation Maps Constantly Changing Directions
I apologize if this topic has been covered before. I have searched the forum and could not find exactly what I am looking for.
I recently picked up a 2005 LR3 HSE. I have noticed that the navigation map points in random directions, going round and round instead of moving with me like the navigation on my other vehicle (2012 Grand Cherokee) and on my iPhone. There is no method to the madness, sometimes it is the right direction and sometimes it is not.
When I put it in "Off-Rode" nav mode, the compass points the right direction as does the map.
Is this normal? I have reset the unit to factory defaults to no avail.
Also, are there any significant software upgrades to the interface with the later map sets, or are the update discs map set only?
Thanks in advance.

When parked, where is the arrow?
When stopped after driving somewhere, and with the engine running, where is the arrow showing where you are - at the correct location or somewhere else.
If somewhere else, you have to calibrate the unit.
Briefly, this means just dragging the arrow over to where you are parked.
You might have to do it a few times depending upon the zoom level.
Also I assume you have the correct setting for where you live programmed in - USA I presume, but there is eastern and western.
For me here in Canada, there is only Canada so if I had the NAV set on Western USA, something odd would I suspect be happening - like the unit could not find where I really am here in Western Canada, (Alberta).
