Potential new owner to an LR3
I have a trade offer for my E55 amg. The kid wants to trade me his 2005 LR3 HSE. It has pretty much been completely gonethrough suspension wise and has a new rear diff. It's got 173k miles. The glovebox is broken/needs a new handle along with the interior being a bit scuffed with it having two rips on the backside of the middle-row seating. On top of that the windshield and rear sunroof is cracked very badly, and clearcoat is peeling on the driverside quarter panel.
I guess my question is what is this car worth if I were to try and sell it quickly? I've read horror stories about Land Rovers before and would consider trading for it only to sell it since a 4x4 would be a quicker sell compared to a rwd sportscar with winter coming. Would it sell for 5k or is that too much for what is needed?
Thanks.

The LR3, and probably any other Land Rover, you are buying for condition. If the thing is visually challenged, that is a red flag to me that it hasn't been cared for. For such an LR3, you would probably have to pay me to take it, as I would be assuming a liability.
You could have a 100K miles LR3 that is a basket case, or a 200K LR3 that is a fine example. For a fine example LR3, you're in the $8000-11,000 category. For a dog, it might be worth a few $ grand tops.
