I took a test drive on a new LR3 HSE the other day and had a blast!! I am very interested in this SUV and wondered what people have been paying for them.
Thanks. BTW I'm in the Sacramento area.

RE: Pricing on new LR3
Sounds like a great price and I am glad to hear they are heavely discounting the 05's as it is basically 06'. What color combo and what area do you live in? I also could have gotten a black 05 SE that MSRP for $53795 for $48 plus TL but I wanted the extras the HSE only comes with and especially the bluetooth and front parking sensors that are new to 06. You will love the car as we do so far.

RE: Pricing on new LR3
Bought a 06 LR3 SE V6 on Dec 30th.
Base price $38,285.00
Add Cold Climate, “SE”, Rear Seat & Climate, Transportation cost, and Java Black Paint = $45,900.00
They sold it to me for $34,795.00
This was an offer I couldn’t refuse especially because the 89 Ford Bronco II I drove to the dealership was on its deathbed.
I have a feeling going to the dealer at 5:00pm on the second to the last day of 2006 had a direct correlation with the eagerness of this dealership loosing one off it’s HUGE inventory of 06 LR3’s.
It wasn’t a walk in the park I might add.
Aftera short courtship with the sales rep we got down to business. I asked for his best price. He walked away, came back after an acceptable delay with a price of $43,000.00 best he could do.
I said it was too much and asked to look over the used ones. As we were walking out the “Manager” got a hold of me, I was a goner.
4 hours later “The Deal” was reached. I half think he threw that price out to really see if I was a serious buyer. I couldn’t refuse.
I drove it home and then did research on the LR. I knew nothing about them before going to the dealer.
Now I can see why this dealer had so many LR3’s.LR has a horrible reputation for quality. Had I done my research I wouldn’t have bought one even for 30K. Wikipedia had some crazy stats on this.

But I like to gamble, you only live once.
Take advantage of Ford’s gamble on LR, take advantage of the bad rap 05 LR3’s gave due to first year productionbugs, gamble that Ford and the British really desire to make the LR3 worth the price.
