Default Rear Hatch Question

All....has the "hack" of holding down the lock and unlock button for 3 seconds ever resulted in anyone being able to actually OPEN the hatch?

For me, it pops open like halfway and then you still need to push the button and actuate it in order to open it. Doesn't seem like a big Easter egg to me, if you still need the actuator to function; what if it's failed?

Its not a hack, never was. It originally was designed for a power lift system but removed last minute. So that feature was never really documented well. What comes in handy is if the rear switch in the upper gate fails, then you can have someone pull the gate while pressing the two switches and it will open. But the switch CAN fail in a closed position, which kills everything 100%.

Wait wait wait....pops it like, entirely? As in you don't need to actuate anything thereafter to open it???

....because I believe I tried that programming on the FOB and it was the same result as the double button press described above.

I've been wondering if there is a way to modify the spring loaded mechanisms to push further so things work "right". With the motorized setup the initial spring was there to get it open but the motors would kick in opening it up before it could re-latch and get "stuck". Only the early models have those spring style strikers, later models have hard strikers with no spring.

60% of the time it opens enough not to be re-caught by the latch, at least that is how I read it. I have never had any luck, it always was caught even though ajar.
