Default Replace rain sensor windshield with non sensor?

Greetings, I'm new here and searched threads but found nothing. Apologies if this has been asked. Two questions: How do I confirm if I have a rain sensing windshield? The wiper delay switch just seems to operate as a standard delay, however the windscreen itself has the black pattern around the mirror mount, going up to the top of the windshield. I need a new windshield and the price difference in my area is about $150 higher for the sensor windshield. If my L3 has a rain sensor, can I simply have a non sensor windshield installed and not have it hooked up? Will the wiper delay still function? Thanks in advance for any advice. This seems like a great group.

Is this a rain sensor screen

I'm not sure if this is definitive, but rain sensing wipers require Adaptive Headlights as well. Not JUST the Xenons, but the ones that swivel. If you're not sure how to check for those, wait until dark, aim your headlights against a wall or garage door, turn off the Rover. Wait a while so systems are asleep. Then, fire up the engine and turn on the headlights ASAP, you should see them "do a little dance" if they are adaptive.

Again, I don't know if this means you have rain sensing wipers, but I do know that if you don't have adaptive headlights then you don't have rain sensing wipers.

If you have rain seeing and turn the wiper to the first indent nothing will happen if it's dry. So if it seems like its at a constant speed at the first indent, you have standard wipers.

Thanks Dakota! Between your suggestion and the headlight trick, it looks like I have a standard windshield. I appreciate the help. Cheers

For the record, I dont much care for my automatic wipers. Kinda wish I had regular ones.

Hi Houm. No headlight dance so standard windshield. Thanks for the tip. I'm on Vashon so if you are ever down this way hit me up. The beer is on me. Cheers

I have read several posts about people not liking the rain sensors. I've just started the process of building this rig and have already started the coilover conversion. Going to remove as much of the overengineered stuff as possible. Thanks again for your help :-)

Sweet! That's close to me. New suspension is supposed to be in this week and the brake kit next week. I'll need a few days to install then it's tire and alignment time. Let's meet up in April.
You seem to know everything about the L3! For 10 years I wheeled a '95 RR Classic (sold my '73 Bronco to buy it), and I am kicking myself for selling both of them. I'm still learning the L3 idiosyncrasies.
Have a great time tomorrow! Looking like a mix of rain and sun - I'm jealous.
