Update number 2 for today.

now I have no compressor at all. Suspension fault. Does not kick on at all.

I will check the relay tomorrow.

 

Is there a way on the gap tool to check whether the compressor is still a functioning compressor - granted I could check the fuses etc but there is NO sound coming from this and am wondering if it is in fact done!?

If the unit was on its way out …signs and symptoms that I may have missed?

so far I have had:

• cross actuator issue
• obstruction issue / warning
• slow to raise warning
• running to hot warning (only appeared once)
• One side of the valve not working warning

i think these symptoms point to a crap compressor. No?

Thought I’d close this out… sort of.

I ended up with buying a new hitachi compressor and installed. Started up and took a bit for Everything to level out. Held air which is good.

I also looked at the connector to the valve as per Dakota Travellers recommendation. It was loose. But I noticed that it did not click in. I retried the old Valve and that didn’t click either. I ended up zip tying around it to make sure it didn’t come lose. Seems to work.

lastly, I’m still getting extended mode/obstacle issues infrequently. I’m wondering if it’s a bad height sensor - I can try and sort that out - perhaps after the parking brake issue now at hand.

 

It must click or you will end up with a bad connection. Either the tab on the connector is broke or, more likely, the weather seal inside the connector is bound up. I suggest you take a closer look. I had to replace my connector with a new one that I bought from Atlantic British. Was cheap.

Not sure what you mean. The weather seal is inside the plug and usually red or bright green. Its just rubber. You can remove it, but then the weather sealing ability is reduced. I did that though until I got a new one. But you can pull it out and put some silicone lubricant on it after cleaning and you may find it connects fine again. I think the issue is that the connector points upward and over time small bits of sand and dirt get down into the seal or under it and that is what causes the issue.

 

I just looked up the part and see what you mean now. I was referring to it being able to plug in at the other end much like say a brake sensor.

I see it’s the plug head that you have to replace.

when you replaced yours did you have to re pin it?

 

I just pulled the connector apart and put the existing pins into the new connector.

also wondering if you think the obstacle issue/extended height is most likely a crap sensor?
