Default What is the MAX LR3 lift??

Question, what is the MAX lift you can have on an LR3 and still have it within factory alignment specs or at least so that the tires don't wear out extremely fast?

Can some of you with lifted trucks who were able to have a successful alignment performed give me the distance from the center of the wheel hub to the arch?

probably 30-40mm plus whatever johnson rods could give you

Makes the CV angles worse though

So I have about 23 inches from the lower portion of hub to the arch. I think that this may be too much lift. I have rods and electronic adjustment so I have the ability to lower the truck still.

the factory height measurements from wheel arch to center cap are:

466mm (front) and 485mm (rear). Thats ~ 18" and 19".

IMO a good and safe lift is around 40mm. Good ground clearance but doesn't strain the drive train too badly. In sticky spots I'll use the off-road height for that extra 2.5".

Also, lucky 8 sells spacers for the air-springs on an LR3 so that the bags aren't over extended and the bump-stops inside are closer to where they need to be for the bigger tires many want to run.

BIG Thanks to everyone, especially DavC! My Rover is now adjusted to a safe and stylish lift height. All four corners are right on the money.

I have wondered about this. There is a bit of clearance between the front diff and the armor plate so one could in theory have room to lower it. Not that I'd try it anytime soon.

The L8 spacers have caused more issues it seems than they have solved, thus far... Expo has a few people running them and more than one have gotten a cross axle articulation fault that sends the truck to the bumpstops. If they find a solid fix for that, these would be a good call.

Hmm. I wonder if the guys getting the faults where using lift rods or a changed ride height via software.

I don't know if it would matter....I know the X-articulation fault would have to do with the calibration than the suspension range. What I don't know is if the height setting has anything to do with the calibration, really, and I don't think it does.

IIRC even in bone stock height, no rods, no GAP lift, they would be fine in normal EAS height but if they selected access height it would throw the fault and go to bumpstops.
