Hi all,
Im interested to know if any other discovery 3/4 owners have had a simpler issue.
I have a 2015 LR4 (from new) with 75k km -
I fitted a set of Compomotive PD1881with Bridgestone 265/60R18 H/T @ around 68K Km.
I have suddenly got an issue were the car will not rev part 3000rpm if I try use the paddle shifter it just changes up a gear.
I took the car to my Landrover Dealer as the car is still under warranty, they informed me that this is due to the tyre size. Sensors monitor tyre rotation and the change will effect the gearbox. They advised I change to 255/60R18. As I live in Abu Dhabi I want the extra width for the sand driving.
Anyone have a similar issue or is there any way of changing software?
Would appreciate any feed back.
Thanks

That doesn't sound right to me. The circumference of those wheel setups is about 1.5percent difference. That sounds far too little to have that sort of impact. And they should be able to use the ssd to tell the car what tire sizes you have anyway as there are different stock options and it has to recalibrate e.g. The speedo which will misread by 1.5percent too
Someone else might know for sure. But it doesn't sound that simple
Did the problem start as soon as you changed the tires
By the way does an extra 1cm width on a 26cm wheel make any difference?

I agree. Practically speaking, it should change nothing. I went from 255 55 to 265 60 with zero effect.
Anyway, the dealer should be able to adjust the sensor setting to account for the tire size change. Ask them to do this.
Another situation where software interferes when hardware shouldn't even be an issue...
