Discovery 4 2010 Neutral intermittent
Disco 4 3LV6 Diesel Automatic 2010
When I place the vehicle into D it sometimes does not actual engage the drive. The dash says N so I move the lever to N then back into D and the vehicle drives ok.
If I sit on the drive I have noticed that you really have to move the lever back into D and then things are ok. The slightest nudge of the lever puts it back into N.
As I am electrical minded I would say that this is a switch somewhere. I don't know if this car has a neutral switch in the lever mechanism or the cable can be adjusted etc.
any ideas?

Looks like the NA cars had a shift cable. This thread might help: https://www.landroverworld.org/threa...f-drive.27788/

Yes, check your physical shift linkage. Its located on the right, along the side of the transmission. How do I know? Currently my 2010 5.0V8 Automatic won't shift into park or neutral. Last night I had push on that linkage for it to get all the way in park so I could shut it off, not fun. You can check a few things in the center console to see if anything is jammed in there like loose change or if anyone has spilled and sugary drinks in there.

Resolved this issue last night with the transmission linkage kit from Atlantic British. WD-40 wasn't enough to help me get it broken loose so I had to use some brake cleaner. I'm now shocked at how much easier it is to shift, its now very apparent that I should have done this long ago.
