Summary: I am selling a 2003 Land Rover Discovery with a 5.3 LS that has been built in-house. We have a lot of projects ongoing at ACE and I need time for new projects coming in. This truck is not in perfect shape cosmetically, but is in great mechanical condition and is a perfect truck for someone to start an offroad build with.
Location: Fort Myers, Florida (and willing to ship)
Price: $11,000. OBO, also willing to consider partial trades for Disco 1s and 2s, maybe a P38.
The Good:
The engine was recently replaced (within last 3 months) with a remanufactured 5.3L LM7 engine from Jasper Engines that has a transferable 3 year/36,000 warranty using one of our LS swap kits. The new engine has been broken in and makes great, smooth power!
· Transmission was serviced with new fluid when engine was installed. The transmission lines were replaced with new units to work with the LS conversion.
· ABS/TC/HDC system was serviced. A new wheel speed sensor was added. The three amigos are gone!
· New metal front bumper with a partial bull bar from Goliath Offroad.
· Frame has no rust and is solid. Really clean!
· Mileage around 135,000.
· Uncracked rear bumper.
· Dash is clear of warning lights.
· No leaks!
The Bad:
· Vehicle has a “rebuilt” title. I have a CarFax and the damage was to the rear quarter panel. It was fairly old when this happened, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was not major damage that totaled it out. There is no visible sign of damage currently (besides what is described below, not sure if related). Frame looks to be in great shape.
· The clear coat on the roof, hood, and front fenders is peeling and paint is faded in those areas.
· Cracked plastic cowl under windshield.
· There is a slight dent on the driver’s side rear next to the back door.
Overall, mechanically the car is in great condition. I recently took it to the Florida Land Rover Club Fall Rally and it performed flawlessly during the day climbing over obstacles and on travelling to and from the rally location. It’s not perfect cosmetically, but would be a great platform for someone to build up for an offroader. Asking $11,000. Open to partial trades for another D2, maybe a D1 or P38.
I have an 01 D2 with the CDL case, no rust, engine is healthy as well as the trans, body is in good shape, it has a few door dings, other than that it’s sorted with now lights on the dash. Three amigos have been fixed as well. I would be interested in trading for the ls swapped one of one in a bit better condition. I also have a second hood for mine that is louvered.
It sold last week and is off to its new owner. We will be doing more custom builds in the future, so feel free to reach out or follow along on our website and instagram!
