Selling my 2004 Discovery 2, Adriatic blue truck with an Alpaca beige and black leather interior. Totally rust free from being stored in Florida, high mileage from the constant driving too and from.

The truck has many updates and upgrades, which I'll go over further in the post. I purchased this beast a few years ago and drove it until the engine had a failed oil pump. So that being said, this truck got a freshened GEMs 1997 motor out of a P38 Range Rover, which was gone through with rod bearings, and cam bearings. Several other pieces of the motor were replaced, such as the lifters and rocker arms, heads entirely refurbished, and the addition of ARP head studs to eliminate chances head gasket failure. It also has a new old stock original cam, which would surprise you compared to some high mileage trucks with how much pep this motor really has. The internal work on the motor was done by Ateco machine shop in Volo IL, where they confirmed proper fitment of rings, cam bearings, rod bearings, etc.

Basically, the truck has totally gone through motor, with a block that had around 80,000 miles. No ticks, weird sounds, slipped liners, rocket tapping, or overheating.
It does have a refreshed cooling system, radiator, hoses, pump, etc. The highest I've seen idle temps is around 193-195 running the genuine Rover 180f thermostat.

And although it is British, this thing doesn't leave a mark on the driveway whatsoever. Motor being completely gone through and resealed doesn't leak, transmission has a new filter and seal so it doesn't leak, and there are no axle leaks either.

So, drivability. The thing drives great. Steering has all new components so it goes where you point the wheel, suspension is very smooth even with the 10 ply all terrain tires, and the thing just looks over everything on the road, you sit in the Land Rover "Command Seating Position" as they called it.

If it's that great, why am I selling it? Well, budgets run out and with a few more of these Discos around the property needing TLC, as well as my 2 Range Rover Classic restorations, somethings ought to go. It's totally sorted out, so why not enjoy bringing back the other trucks back to their prime!

I'll go on a list bonanza next..here's everything that's new that I can think of.

New windshield
New battery
All cooling hoses, including the hard plastic lines that break.
New crank position sensor
New power steering lines
New power steering pump
Vacuum lines gone through and all old loose connectors replaced
PCV308 upgrade to eliminate the troublesome internal PCV valve
Front driveshaft has been replaced with a greasible unit
The engine, and most of everything in it
Heads refurbished as well, new head gaskets, valley pan gasket, front and rear main seals, front cover gasket, exhaust gaskets, intake gaskets, throttle body gaskets, etc etc.
New starter
I went as far as ordering new torque converter bolts from the dealership...why? I mean..new old stock parts are always fun to get!
New brake pads, rotors, brake flush
NO Option B, it has never had the 3 Amigos, so no bypass was required. Truck was kept in a very dry state and that reflects I suppose.
Great set of 265/60r18 all terrain tires that aren't Chinese junk
STI 8mm wires and NGK spark plugs
Steering track bars
New highflow y-pipe cats
All four oxygen sensors
Timing chain
Timing gears
180F thermostat
Radiator
TBH bypass - I've only had problems with leaks keeping them
Front and rear differentials serviced
Transmission serviced and resealed
Differential serviced
And I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting.

The headliner has been replaced with raptor lining, looks great in black and I love the contrast between the Alpaca and black, matches cues like the carpets, dash, and a few panels.

Rear frame is totally solid, no rust, and even the rear step works!

Everything electrical works, air conditioning and heat, both sunroofs (that don't leak), all windows, cruise control, and all of the locks work as well. They super lock without issue, and unlock both inside and out with the key.

No CEL, 3 amigos, no lights whatsoever. Yes

Now..the bad!
It does have a few scratches and parking lot dings on it in the 17 almost 18 years it's been alive. The immediate body has been paint corrected, but has a few swirls due to usage and well..washing it.
Stereo exists, but barely. Don't get me wrong, there aren't any blown speakers..But compared to my new Range Rover. Boy they could have done better for an originally (inflation calculated) $70,000 vehicle Hahaha
Seats do show some wear, but not much. Steering wheel also shows some wear on the top, however no dye degredation.
Front driver door alcantara is looking a little worn
Roof does have a little bit of sun fading. Can't really tell with the ceramic coating, but when that wears off in a few years it'll look faded unless polished or re-coated.
Hood has been repainted due to sun fading, but matches perfectly. You wouldn't know.
It gets garbage fuel economy..like 17-18MPG and I drive it fairly grandma-like
The brakes, although new, aren't new car like. It's like this with every Discovery ever and even though I'm using a very sensitive organic pad, they still don't feel perfect. Brake pedal doesn't sink, and it does stop on a dime..however the feeling isn't modern. Say more...old Land Rover like. oh wait..!
Some other upsides!
Steel front bumper. I do have the original front bumper from it that's not cracked. I can either swap it out, or give it with the truck for..I don't know, a meal at Chicfila?
It looks great! I mean, I do have another Adriatic blue truck with a steel front bumper with 90k miles..But even that thing has its flaws.
It drives the same way off-road that it does on-road. Mud, snow, gravel, Mars exploration, water, ice, hills, grass, literally the most awful Milwaukee roads, and anything else I've thrown at it are never a problem!
Comes with all original owner's manual. Unfortunately I do not have the original monroeny sticker.
I run BG44k through it every so often, BP and Costco premium gas only.
Oil that's run in it is a high ZDDP additive Mobil diesel oil, along with a Mahle filter every 3,000 miles.

Any questions just give me a call. I'm available most of the day as long as I have service.

Hello and would you have any images of the rear frame, wheel arches and frame images near the catalytic converters? Thank you in advance.
