Was planning on keeping truck forever but I lost access to my shop and storage so I can't keep my hobby vehicle. All work to truck has been done by myself over the last 13 years of ownership, 2nd owner. I just completed a fresh engine rebuild, using a heat-pressure tested 4.0 block and 4.6 crankshaft as shown in pics. Also installed a 4HP24 transmission and LT230 t-case and diff-lock linkage from a 2004 with approx. same mileage as this 2000. About 500 miles on engine which has new 4.6 cam/lifters, rebuilt/resurfaced heads, new rod and main bearings, timing chain, oil pump, piston rings,cleaned/tested injectors, ARP head studs, coil relocation, inline thermostat, new nissens radiator, rebuilt steering box, power steering pump, Chevy S10 cooling fan, new Y-pipe and cats, new oxygen sensors, Bosch fuel pump, motor mounts, probably forgetting things, engine runs like a sewing machine; no knocks or taps.
I made a rear bumper, sliders and rebuilt/reinforced an old ARB bumper with Smittybuilt 9000lb. winch, battery tray for dual batteries (only 1 battery installed now) OME 2" lift: shocks & HD springs, Extended braided brake lines, diff protectors. Land Rover 16x7 steel wheels (very hard to find!) with Falken AT3 235/85-16 E-range "pizza cutters", Extended roof rails, fiberglass-reinforced/refinished A-pillar covers and intake cowl. Heat/AC, windows, locks, keys, all work fine.
All of the parts that I was able to save from parting several other D2's are part of sale, including original 5 -16x8 alloy wheels in very good condition, a Nanocom ( https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/shop/product/ncom04 ) a very good condition '04 grille and everything else pictured. Clean title in hand.
The bad: I tried upgrading the BECM to an '04, but could not get all systems to work right, so I reverted back to the 2000 original, and in the process, the original mileage was changed. It now registers approx. 140,000, which is very close to original, but it may not match the PA registration. Not sure how this will affect a new registration.., There is a trouble code for the EVAP system that I haven't been able to correct. This makes it impossible to pass PA emissions in my area, but does not affect engine function at all. The rear interior has been removed/discarded, with the beginnings of storage for utility/camping incomplete. This is a blank canvas if desired, or you can restore to original since seats and parts are readily available. The sunroofs are sealed closed. The clearcoat is typically bad but shows better with an occasional coat of linseed oil. I repaired the rear part of the frame where the typical rust starts with new metal on the passenger side, the driver side rear frame rust is minimal and I have been treating the whole underside with Lanolin-based protectant (Surface Shield and similar) since I've had the truck. If you've used this stuff, you know how well it stops rust. This truck is not a cream puff but could be a good off road/daily driver, or at least a big lot of valuable parts.
I do not wish to sell separate parts. If you're part of this group, you know the value of all this, if you're new to Rovers, you will appreciate having everything included here. Asking price is $6500 or best offer.
