I bought a Makita Die Grinder and some bits off of Amazon and that made short work of the manifolds, I am sure it is eating the dremel bits up. i would not have used the metal bits and the big die grinder on my heads. A slip could bang the aluminum up really badly. I am excited to hear your thoughts on the ported manifolds. I really felt a difference, but who knows, could be wishful thinking.

My alternator blew up a few months back and during that the controller started acting funny. Ron Francis is having me send it in for evaluation. The secondary fan is staying on all of the time. Frankly, not sitting in traffic in Chicago the one fan is adequate, but I want it working properly. I have some other work I should do, but have been sidetracked with a job search, we recently moved, and my son being out of daycare. Hopefully, they can reprogram it and it will be good to go.

The thermostat for the controller is piezoelectric and mounted on the rear of the passenger side cylinder head.

    Hey Sixpack,

How goes the battle? I still appreciate all your advice during my HG saga. I am having an issue with my fan controller, but aside from that she has been pretty low maintenance, knock on wood.

    Cool stuff
I've owned and ridden many sportbikes.
Unfortunately have never done a trackday, but I keep up with the local ameture racers through the mountains here.
I love knee dragging and more so, riding wheelies.
Last bikes have been 08 Bking, 08 Busa, 02 gsxr1k, 94 zx7, and an old Honda CB360, lol.
I ride all my friends bikes too.
The gsxr1k is my all time favorite, the 09 -14.
It is the next one I'll buy.
Time and family gets me too.
This is the only picture I have in my phone now, just a short 1/4 mile wheelie on my 08 Busa.
Always good talking to another sportbike guy, and I'm sixpack577 on Hayabusa.org too

Hi, I've always had GSX-R1000. My first bike in Belgium was a K4, Then after moving to San Diego, I purchased a new K6. After 60,000 miles on various race tracks and twisty backroads, I got rear-ended at a traffic light and purchased a pre-owned K7. I still have that bike and clocked now 70,000 miles! She runs and looks like new! Unfortunately, not much time left to ride (family and kids). Go however on a regular basis to track-weekends. Here two pics of my last raceweekend:

How is the mat shipping? Need to know the shipper so I can look for it. USPS always holds my packages.
