Alarm System
Anybody know of a good, easy to install, aftermarket alarm and keyless entry for a DII? I like the 2-way alarms, but don't know how hard to install on rovers, I've put a couple on Yamaha R1's, but definately not the same animal. Any input helps, thanks..
You probably have the best alarm system on the market on your truck already, why would you want to add sone domestic piece of crack after market warranty? Do you know how to use the factory alarm and what it does?
I know that the factory alarm has fuel cut-off, but i've lost my only fob, and the dealer wants over $250 to replace and program the new one. Basically i miss the keyless entry, and i'm not too worried about theft. With temps about 100 every day i'd like to find something with auto roll down on the windows, or remote start, but keyless entry is my main concern.
Buy a new FOB on E-Bay, sometimes around $50, then find a shop with either a T4 or Auto Logic scanner. Some shops will only charge $50 to $80 in labor to set it up.
As for the alarm system, it is a complete ultra sonic interior feature and a dead bolt super lock feature that can't be beat.

I found a fob, called a local import shop who said that it would be no prob to do "about 1/2 hr." WhenItook the truck up there, he messedaround with the autologic system for about 45 min. until he finally gave up and toldme that he "can't get into my system". I was there with him and the autologic gave him many options about engine, auto trans, srs, etc... Is it possible that he is justunfimilar with rovers and didn't know howto do it on his autologic system, or is it true when he said that he'll have to findother software. Just wondering, because he is about 1/4 the price of the dealer, andthe dealer said that i'd have to leave my truck overnight..
