Anyone Dyno there trucks stock or with any mods? These above are at the crank of built rover v8s. I’m getting a motor built at the moment and am getting excited about the new power.
just curious about those who have built these motors and what you’ve found? Good or bad.

I only have butt Dyno results and they have felt pretty substantial.

There’s a guy from England on a Facebook group telling me the d2 is limited to 251 hp at the wheels due to traction control cutting power. Can anyone shed some light on this? I thought our tc only activated the brakes?

he claims he has 350hp from his motor on an engine stand but is only able to put 251 down to the wheels because of the tc. I could see 300 at the wheels after parasitic and driveline losses.

Unless I’m missing something traction control only kicks in if the wheels start spinning, the reverse of ABS...it has no way of sensing hp readings....if I recall the front pump of the auto trans on the earlier (zf4hp22) ones was limited to 220ft/lbs..??.vs the later ones (zf4hp24) was to 240.... maybe that’s what he’s referring to..??

I don’t know, sounds kinda fishy to me. He hasn’t replied back to me so I don’t know.

he probably means that he couldn’t get an awd dyno done because the traction control thinks the truck is loosing traction...which DOES happen on all dynos.

All car models have this problem if they can not fully disengage traction control.

Mercedes and some VW’s have this issue all the time.

it sounds like whoever was “tuning it” didn’t tell him the whole story or the guys lieing anyway

Doesn't traction control stop working with the 3 amigos?
If so, couldn't you do optionB with a toggle switch, to turn it off?
I kinda like that idea now that I think about it, I'de love to be able to put ABS and TC on a toggle switch together, that would make it more fun off road in some situations.
I could clear any codes thrown too.

you can turn off TC by doing the following steps:

1. With engine running, engage CDL
2. Turn engine off with CDL engaged.
3. Turn engine on and disengage CDL.
4. TC is now turned off and dashboard light should come on until you turn engine off again

I've owned this thing over 2 1/2 years, and driven it 2 1/2 weeks, so I don't know or remember most of it's functions, lol

If you have TC off, and rengage the CDL, does the TC still remain off?
