D Ring Shackles?
I'm looking for some D-Ring Shackles to put on my bumpers. I have looked around online, and it's hard to find them anywhere but places like ARB or Smittybuilt etc. I find it hard to believe that these are the only places to buy something like that. Additionally, I can only imagine that they would be a fair bit more expensive when bought from somewhere like ARB, when I would think that something could be found at a Home Depot or something similar.
Anyway, I just wanted to know where you guys all got/get yours, as I'm finding it harder up here than I would have thought.
Thanks,
John

don't get some Chinese junk
get some van Beest or Gunnebo or one of the American rigging brands like Columbus McKinnon or whatever. ARB doesn't make shackles.
If you can't even tell who made it, I wouldn't rig with it.
Masterpull has a good price on van Beest 3/4"

I don't like the CM Rigging ones you suggest because they are not wide enough. The VanBeest are nice but you are talking $50/pr, i'm yet to break any of my ARB or Rugged shackles and i beat the **** out of em.
Uhhh... I'm pretty sure ARB makes shackles:
Check any hardware store, Ace, TSC, Fastenal, etc.
I don't really think it matters where you get them from, as long as they fit where you want them to fit. It really doesn't matter who makes them either. I've used all sorts of different shackles made in any number of places from a few different stores. I've yet to be let down by a shackle, even some absurdly small ones. I generally carry a couple 3/4" ones, they seem to be pretty standard, and one big assed one that's nearly the size of my head. That has come in handy too.

There's a difference between manufacturing and distributing under your label another manufacturer's shackle. I don't know which it is for ARB.
FWIW there's a difference between a D-shackle and a bow shackle. You'll find that many places (like that Amazon link above) label a bow shackle as a D shackle... actually that Amazon labels it both a bow and D shackle. That's the first time I've seen that. They're different and have a different shape.

Do you mean D-Ring shackles or shackles? D-Ring shackles are weld on units and some places to get them are Northern Tool Buyers Heavy-Duty Forged D-Ring 1in. Dia. w/ Weld-On Bracket | Rope Rings| Northern Tool + Equipment or Truck and Tow TrucknTow - Bull Ring and Weld-On Bracket - 1 Inch stock. For a regular shackle, the Smitty Bilt and ARB's are fine, although I'd be willing to bet they are someone else's with their labels. Truck and Tow is a good source for them also. An anchor style with a bolt and pin is a good choice for something that hangs on a bumper all of the time TrucknTow - Anchor Shackle - Nut & Bolt Style but they are more costly. A regular pin style is much cheaper. Here's some bad-boy grade 80's TrucknTow - Grade 80 Screw Pin Anchor Shackles.
