Here is another event that is great and is probably pretty close to you. I have been to this fall event and the other spring event at the same location for about 4 yrs now, great groups of folks and great place to learn with lots of different levels of trucks and drivers to ride and talk with.

Old North State Land Rover Society
Uwharrie Rover Event ("URE")
October 18-20, 2013
Uwharrie National Forest OHV Trails, Troy, NC (45 minutes NE of Charlotte)

Thanks! I'll look into that one as well. I was actually looking at doing the Uwharrie Safari in 2014. Hopefully I'll have some more armor made before these events.

WOAH. You go to UT? I do too. I drive the semi-built white D1 around campus

Both events at Uwharrie are basically the same, just a different groups in charge from the two different clubs. Pretty much the same group of folks however. Hope to see you at one of these. I have not been to the SAE events, they seem to be a little longer trip than the rest of the gang wants to make usually, but his year at Windrock, I may be able to make that one.

I've not been around a 03-04 D2, but I'm assuming it would fit without modification. As long as the headlight finisher is in the same position as the 99-02 D2, it would fit fine.

There are modifications that need to be done, but...worth it.
