Discovery II 2003 hidden winch mount install

2 Attachment(s)
A 180$ winch mount from D.A.P. and a 299$ 12000lb badlands winch from Harbor Freight, and a terra firma (pack of 2 for 40$) d ring mount bolted to the winch mount for my 2003 D2. I didn't want to go to the expense (and weight of a full on bumper and mount), but still wanted a winch. There is a hole behind the license plate to access the winch clutch lever and the jack for the remote controller has a cut out spot on the upper left grill to plug it in. Some cutting was required of the bumper assembly parts for everything to fit and have access.

I was looking at that kit as well. I just installed the road master tow hitch up front and the bull bar attaches to. I wonder if that will mount in between the road master mounts as well...

is it possible you can give me the kit numer and the measurements of the try for the winch to mount to. I bought a smittybilt500 winch and am trying to decide how to ount the winch up front.

thanks in advance.

I picked up the badlands Winch tray for $49 plus a 25% Discount! ... to do the discrete setup.. its HEAVY! almost 1/4" plate steel powder coated black... i didn't see any side mounts but there was a set that was priced right at 5 bucks! i don't do any mud bogging in mine... i just want a winch for the occasional pull or out in MOAB or something! :D plus it looks BAD A! lol I'm just trying to decide if i really need a 12,000LB winch or can easily use the 9500lb winch...

can you please post a picture of the winch tray you used and if you have a part number that would be best as well. also id like to see a front face on view of how this tray looks on the car.

I thank you very much if you can help me

If you are sticking with Badlands for the winch, why question $50 difference for 2,500lb of pull? - get the 12K winch...
