Default Installed my Safari Snorkel Today!

Man, this took four hours with someone helping a lot (Doing more than me).

Anyways, I obtained a template and instructions directly from ARB at this email address, included everything I needed! Mitch Carter: mitchc@arbusa.com (For those searching for templates via Google like I was)

Anyhow, talk about precise. This thing was much harder to install than anticipated. But now that it's installed, I dig it. It doubles as a thermometer for the outside temperature, my intake temperature is always the ambient temperature outside!

You need big holesaws and I found an 83 and 89 mm at Lowe's, I needed an 86. But I made it work. After I use I returned the $20/each things back to the store This isn't a step-by-step but just to inform anyone of whom is thinking of getting into this. The work pays off because they look so cool! Plus, I put water over the hood too many times for comfort. I don't like pulling out muddy air filters.

The cuts into the body were nervewracking and I actually messed some up, so it didn't come out as clean as I'd like. But overall, it works, that's all that matters. Sealed airbox and we're good to go. Now for pictures.

Jake, what's the usual connector between the topper and snorkel usually look like? Mine came with a hose clamp, I doubt it came like that. While at Lowe's I picked up one of these from the plumbing section, I actually like the ridges and I think it looks rather clean.

What brand of roof rack is that? It looks like the one that is on my D1. I bought the truck with it on there so I don't know anything about it. Safety Devices?

Love the snorkel btw

What kind of sealant did you use on the rubber grommets and holes at the base of the airbox?

I think a snorkel is going to be my next mod after I get my lift and tires.
