Default Wheel spacers

Good, bad, or indifferent? Does widening the stance this way improve the DII. Does out just add extra unnecessary stress to the bearings?

Why do you need too? Can you just use offset rims? Im not a fan of spacers but many use them quite successfully.

Really just curious. But if I ever did go that route Id say cost, and that I have not seen too many after markets that look good on the disco. Maybe I'm getting old but all the new ones look the same.

Why do you feel you would need them?

if you get bigger tires and they are wide like 265/75/16's then you might need a 1 inch wheel spacer so that the tires don't rub at full lock. other than that there is no real reason to get them.

I'm having TF 2" HD lift put on this week and was debating tire size. I was already set on some Toyo AT's, or BFG's, in the 265 / 75r16. However as I'm waiting for the kit to get here im feeling greedy. At the same time I dont want to go so large as to lose alot of power and MPG either.
This world would be.alright if everyone just had to face my worries.

Why spend $200 plus to have someone install your lift, do it your self, with a friend out on the drive way in under 3 hours.
As for the spacers, I run 265's and no spacers, I have a number of friends running 285/75/16's on a HD OME lift, no need for spacers.

I currently have no plans for the spacers. It was just a curiosity. As for having someone do the lift for me.... I love working on my disco, but right now I just can't find the time. And the guy that is doing if is also doing my tires so it's an easy one stop shop. I'm probably going to stick with the Toyo AT's in the 285/75 range.

What will you be using your truck for, what sort of trails?
Are you aware that you will be loosing around 3 MPG with 285's along with a lot of low end torque?

nothing too heavy. I'm in Florida so there is not much except boggin, and I'm not up for that specifically.
I was really worried about the loss of power though unless I re-geared it. I already drive a disco so I'm not too worried about the has issue. I decided to do the smart thing though and go with 265/75r16. Seems a good middle ground, and the tires are alot cheaper st that size too.
