18D update and no voice
Just went from 18B to 18D update at the dealer.
Now there is no voice recognition or voice feedback (navigation, phone, etc.). Anyone else experience that and what was done to fix? |
I'm on 18C and not having those issues. I saw on the D5 Facebook group that some people had issues with 18D, but most were fine. Seems the cure is to take it back and have them reload the update, may have had an issue with the update process. Apparently there are some prerequisites required before the update, unfortunately it was not specified what it was. Seems that they need to carefully read and follow the instructions from JLR.

That is really encouraging to hear. I'm having the 18D upgrade done tomorrow. I should probably reconsider.

After my update...You must have your phone plugged in to get the features you used to have even when it wasn't plugged in before. Poorly executed update in my opinion....

Just got my car back from the dealer. The upgrade went well.
So far the system seems to respond faster than before. No issues yet. |

I was going to have my dealer install 18D but he told me to wait. He said they were seeing Bluetooth and other connectivity issues and that a revision will be out in the next week or so. i appreciated his honesty when he said 18D was a poorly executed update. |

Just have to chime in and say my '19 had 18D installed when I purchased it. I have no bluetooth / connectivity issues. also, i have no features that require my phone to be plugged in other than Apple Carplay.

Going back for a reinstall next week.

Does any one know how to confirm which version is installed? My settings shows the map version, but provides no information regarding the infotainment version. thanks.

- the infotainment version shows under "Software Updates" under the All Settings menu - the map version is under the feature menu for navigation Hope that helps. |
It does help--thanks!

Just picked it back up. There were several issues but now all is good. Lucky for me another D5 just came in a day earlier withbexact same issue so they knew what to do. Also JLR hacked into my car and made surr it was all good.

OS updates...
Does updating the OS force a reset of all settings? Do phones need to be re-paired and nav profiles reset?

Same Issue
I also went in for 18D update as well as install of Apple Carplay. Can’t connect phone via Bluetooth. Works fine when plugged in but that is just not convenient. I guess we will have to go back for reinstall as well.

I'vs noticed that when they "reinstalled" they actually went from the 18D to 19A.

The lag issues not fixed.

There were issues with the Deezer streaming after the update. I deleted my Live account and reinstated. Now no issues.
