Default 18D update and no voice

Just went from 18B to 18D update at the dealer.

Now there is no voice recognition or voice feedback (navigation, phone, etc.).

Anyone else experience that and what was done to fix?

I'm on 18C and not having those issues. I saw on the D5 Facebook group that some people had issues with 18D, but most were fine. Seems the cure is to take it back and have them reload the update, may have had an issue with the update process. Apparently there are some prerequisites required before the update, unfortunately it was not specified what it was. Seems that they need to carefully read and follow the instructions from JLR.

That is really encouraging to hear. I'm having the 18D upgrade done tomorrow. I should probably reconsider.

After my update...You must have your phone plugged in to get the features you used to have even when it wasn't plugged in before. Poorly executed update in my opinion....

Just got my car back from the dealer. The upgrade went well.

So far the system seems to respond faster than before. No issues yet.

Mine is faster - just the issue of the voice recognition

I was going to have my dealer install 18D but he told me to wait. He said they were seeing Bluetooth and other connectivity issues and that a revision will be out in the next week or so.

i appreciated his honesty when he said 18D was a poorly executed update.

That's good to know. I have read that 18D also enables Over the air updates. I hope to do new updates myself.

Just have to chime in and say my '19 had 18D installed when I purchased it. I have no bluetooth / connectivity issues. also, i have no features that require my phone to be plugged in other than Apple Carplay.
