2018 Discovery with stock tires. When at off road and turned all the way to right the driver side tire rubs on plastic. I need new tires and was going to go with BF Goodrich KO2's 275/55-20 but no I see no way I can do that now.
Are you the first owner of that 2018 D5 ?
If not, maybe they aren't the stock tire size.
If they are, then something is wrong and you could have your suspension checked under warranty.
Most of owners seem to be able to use the oversize tires without rubbing even without the lift rods.
2017 here with 275/55/20 K02's and while I have the GAP tool to adjust height, I've needed it at stock height to help ferry a family member with recent knee surgery and have zero rubbing even in access height. The 'lift' is not necessary to run this size tire. I'm willing to bet there is loose plastic under the wheel well or something.
It was some loose plastic. It was way wonky I don't remember getting into anything that would have done that but obviously I did. I just had the 275/55/20 KO2's put on and no rubbing at all. They look awesome.

Any chance you can post some pictures with the new bigger tires?
Sorry for long delay got distracted by a Jeep project. But I do have plenty of miles on them now. Around town and highway. Any how.. The KO2's are awesome. I can't really tell much difference from OEM. Maybe a bit more roll in a turn but also a bit more cushy ride. Sound difference is negligible if any. Gas mileage also unaffected. I have gotten way more comments on D since putting these on also.

I was running the stock 255/55/20 on Toyo ATIII (XL) in Mojave and Bodie town, both times clipped a rock on the trail and blew the tires. I’m very worried about sidewall height now so went with 275/65/18. No rubbing except in reverse near full lock.
should I install lift rods or use the GAP tool to adjust the height?
Haven’t taken them out yet but hoping for better experience.
