Question Adding Overland Lights / Power access

All-

I have had an LR4 for years, and have just upgraded to a 2020 D5 HSE Lux. I am working on adding some front grill Overland lights and have realized unlike my LR4 the D5 has the battery in the rear. Assume there is some smart way to connect to 12v in the front, but wanted to know if anyone on the forums has already been down this road before I make wasted time.

Searched and did not find much that would answer what I am looking for. Pictures would be great!

Thanks
Drew

There’s a 12v terminal takeoff in the engine compartment due to the battery in the rear. Can’t miss it.

Apparently there is a power block behind the wheel liner on the front passenger side wheel liner ( referring to LHD there. Driver side for RHD) this can be used for lights, winch, etc. It has extra terminals already to add accessories. No pictures of this yet since I have not started my winch install.

Would love to see a pic of that power block.

I was thinking of a wireless trigger unit to use.

This is what I am trying to do; how did you wire into the "+" block?

Any more pictures would be great, I got my light mounted after some head scracthing with the Lucky8 mounts and Rigid Light setup troubles. But looking good. just need Power now!

Lift up the cap on the + which is your positive. Your negative goes to the stud which is sticking up. Be sure to wire in a fuse to protect the lamps. Good luck.

Hey Ronbo, how did you mount those lights? Isn't that just plastic that they're on? Also, what lights are those?
Thx.

The lamps are Baja Designs - S2 - 2450 lumens ea. Look closely they’re mounted upside down on the license mounting frame - Amazon - (black aluminum), quite rigid and doesn’t vibrate. No cutting into the grill. The wiring is snaked past the fan housing to the take off + post and - ground. Controlled wirelessly. No cutting into vehicle’s wiring and voiding any warranty leftover. Just make sure you shut off - wirelessly. It works great.

I did not get a chance to pull the wheel liner this past weekend due to installing the LR camera system. Once I receive the rest of my order from LKY8 with the A bar I am planning on pulling the front end and will snap a picture then. Hopefully this coming up weekend as I would like to have everything ready for SCARR in 2 weeks.
