Default LR Dash Cam Accessory - install and experience?

Anyone have experience with the dash cam? I called the dealer today and they couldn't find such a part given my VIN (2022 Discovery HSE), so I went ahead and ordered it here:
https://www.powerfuluk.com/land-rove...t-genuine.html

That shop has a nice video of installing it in a Defender, but I'm curious if anyone has installed it in their Discovery. I'd love to hear how it went. I'd also be very interested to hear if it works as well as you'd have liked.

Thanks!! :-)

I just ordered the wiring loom from PowerfulUK (Part #EWL304) and a Garmin Mini 2 Dash Cam... The loom is specific to the New Defender, but I have been told it 'should' work for the Disco 5. I will document as I install it, with rear camera, so it will only be 50% of the job you will be doing on your Disco.

I have installed in on our 2019 Disco 5, if you find the "Land Rover Discovery 5 Owners Group" on Facebook you will find all of the manuals in the files section of that group for how to remove the relevant trims etc as well as the install instructions for the dashcam itself.
The only thing I did differently, was not route the cable to the rear across the roof lining, I simply ran it over the rear wheel arch and into the battery compartment.

I guess there is no access to that group outside of Facebook? I am not on it. Thank you you for the additional information!

Unfortunately not, you can download the install instructions from the below, but if you wanted specific trim removal instructions etc that FB group is probably the easiest.

I'd never heard of this existing!

What makes it any better/worse than one of the many non-LR cameras out there? £450 seems like a LOT.

Agree with @1979rover - understand the want for "factory" but that's a lot of coin for a 1080p cam that doesn't seem to do any more than my 10 year old Garmin Dashcam I want to replace badly. Correct me if I'm wrong - no modem, no cloud, no 4k?

Agreed... That's why I am going with the Garmin Mini 2.

Kudos. Nice cam. Since we're driving a fraction of what we anticipated I've stuck with my vintage Garmin Dashcam. It seems they're all trying to get to subscription revenues (Garmin, Rivian, Tesla etc). Factory cam should use the vehicle sensors (the data is already there in the bus), modem & connect platform otherwise why bother?

I was looking at this guy here before we changed our driving patterns. Park mode with modem + realtime notifications the kicker for me.

Not much, the price from LR includes fitting though and it wires directly into the loom above the interior light cluster. It fits well though and seems reliable which is all I wanted.

I had the Audi UTM in our S5 before the Disco and I like the more integrated look of them, this is the same.

I also got mine considerably cheaper and fitted it myself.
